School News

Open Enrollment -ENDS TODAY - January 9, 2026 - This is for families not currently enrolled at JA, or if you have an incoming preschool or kindergarten student for the 2026-2027 school year, you must submit an application.  Applications must be submitted in EnrollJeffco beginning December 2.  Please share this information with neighbors, family and friends that may be interested in attending JA. You do not need to submit an application for students currently attending JA. 6th grade students will automatically be enrolled at JA Secondary.

Current families have received an email from Jefferson County Schools to login to EnrollJeffco and confirm that they are returning to JA or have the option to apply to other schools. If you have not completed this process, you should have received another email from the district prior to returning in January. Please respond to that email. Along with confirming your enrollment, you will also need to review/revise your personal information (address, phone numbers, etc.). All students will be automatically enrolled into JA next year, unless we are notified by the family or another school that the student is transferring.

Drop off during inclement weather - In an effort to make morning drop-off safer and more efficient for everyone, we will be implementing a change to the AM Driveline process. This update will apply only to the south/west side of campus and only on days with inclement weather, primarily during snowy mornings. We have already tested this new traffic pattern twice with great success, helping students transition from their cars into the building more quickly and safely while minimizing the impact on instructional time and getting you on your way in the morning quicker. Click HERE for a map of the new traffic pattern.

Continuation Pictures - Thursday, January 22 - Kindergarten and 6th grade students will have their individual pictures taken on this day.  Kindergarten students will wear cap & gown.  6th grade students are encouraged to personalize their picture. Please see the flyer in Monday’s folder. There is not a makeup day for these pictures.

PTO

Bathroom remodeling - Last Wednesday, the PTO membership approved $32,000 towards the remodeling of the bathrooms in the 5th grade hall, as well as the ones outside 1st grade and near the 3rd grade.  These are the original bathrooms that have not had any work on them since when they were built.  We had recently received numerous requests from students, staff and parents to “do something about it”.  So we are.  This money needs to be spent by June 30th, 2026; therefore, they will be completed by this time as well.  Thank you PTO membership!!
