Reminder - The first Wednesday of the month is a late start day. Wednesday, September 3 school starts at 10:00 a.m.
Assessment tests - We will be sending home the results of your student’s beginning-of-year benchmark testing in Monday folders on September 22. These results help our teachers understand where each student is starting academically. Using this important data, teachers will thoughtfully group students to tailor instruction and differentiate learning to best meet their individual needs. Thank you for your continued support as we work together to help every student succeed!
Service Animals- As a reminder, we do not allow animals on our campus. The church is now considered our property, so that area is included. For the safety of all students and visitors, do not bring your pets on campus. Please visit with our Principal should you have an approved service animal.
Drug free, Smoking free campus - Recently, we have witnessed drivers smoking when on school grounds. As a reminder, school campuses are drug free, tobacco free and firearm free. Do not bring any of these on our campus. Thank you.

Picture Day - Tuesday, September 16 - Picture packets will be in students’ folders next week. All students will have their picture taken. Class pictures are also taken on this day. Make up day for individual pictures will be on Wednesday, October 29.
4th and 5th grade band parents - Please return the permission slip to the Lakewood Cultural Center [sent home on Monday, August 25th] no later than Tuesday, September 2nd. After that date, a school provided sack lunch cannot be guaranteed for your student(s).
SAC (School Accountability Committee) Kickoff! - Join us Wednesday, September 3rd from 5:30–6:30 pm (in person at JA Elementary or virtually- link can be found here: www.jajags.com/page/sac) to learn what SAC is all about and hear from our Principals about the year ahead. The JA Elementary PTO meeting will follow right after. We’d love to see you there—your voice and involvement make a difference for our schools and kids!

Mileage Club - Join us on the track Tuesdays & Thursdays, starting September 9, to cheer on participants and track laps as the kids log miles to earn prizes during lunch recess.
