School News

Wednesday, November 6 - Late start day. School begins at 10:00 a.m.

Veterans’ Day Program - Our 4th grade students will perform in a Veterans' Day program on Monday, November 11 at 10:00 a.m. This is a full day of school for students. Siblings may not be called out of class to attend.  After the program, students will be returning to their classroom. If you choose to take your student out of school after the program, the student will be called out of class by the office personnel. If you have a special need due to a disability, plan to attend this event, and wish to request accommodations in order to participate, contact Shelly Cohen, 720-728- 6162.  Please call in advance so that appropriate arrangements for reasonable accommodations may be made. Parking is available in the west parking lot and overflow is in the church lot. Parking is prohibited on 99th Ave. 

Lost & Found - We have an abundance of items in the lost and found. Please have your student check for missing items. Parents are welcome to come and check as well after signing in at the office. 

Intramural Basketball - This after school program is open to all 5th & 6th grade students.  This program will begin the week of November 18 and end the week of January 27. Students have a choice to participate on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 3:15 - 4:15 p.m. (schedule).  The registration form and emergency form along with payment should be brought to the office. Spots are filled on a first-come, first served basis. 

Spelling Bee Club  - 4th, 5th & 6th grade students unlock the power of words! This club is the perfect place to challenge yourself and have fun. Practice with friends, boost your confidence, and prepare for exciting competitions. Don't miss out on the chance to become a word wizard—join the Spelling Bee Club today! Chess Club -(Winter Session)  - Calling all 3-6th graders. Join the chess club and become a master of strategy! You'll have fun learning new moves, challenging friends, and solving tricky puzzles. Whether you're a beginner or already know the basics, you'll improve your skills while making new friends! We will meet on Mondays from November 11- January 31. Sign up HERE.

Talk to the Camera 2 (Winter Season) -  Movie Magic (grades 3 - 6th)  Young filmmakers work together using a Project Based Learning approach to make a movie! Students actively engage in all aspects of a professional film set. They become directors, film crew and actors-- honing their craft, building their critical thinking skills and gaining a sense of ownership. *Families will receive an edited movie a few weeks after the final class date. Prospective Family Nights

Jefferson Academy Elementary will host this event on Wednesday, November 13 at 6:00 p.m. This is for students and their families currently not attending JA going into PreK - 6th grade this next school year. Families will have the opportunity to meet staff and tour the school. 

Jefferson Academy Secondary will be hosting our annual Prospective Family Open House on Tuesday, November 19 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.  Please stop by for a student-led tour and the opportunity to meet our amazing staff and learn all that JA has to offer!  Visit our website for more information at secondary.jajags.com.

Thank you for an amazing Fun Run today! We couldn't do it without all the support from our entire school community,  parents,  families, students, administration, teachers & staff, and our amazing volunteers for making FUN RUN such a fantastic success! Hopefully our students enjoyed being about to watch Mr. Feddema’s head being shaved.

Family Movie Night  - Hey 2nd & 3rd graders, you and your immediate family members are invited to our next Family Movie Night on Friday, November 15 at 6:30 PM. Our featured movie will be Happy Feet. Be on the lookout for the RSVP to be sent directly to your email inbox, and get signed up, as space is limited to the first 150 people! Registration will be sent at a later date. We can't wait to enjoy this fun movie with you!
