Drop off - Students being dropped on the east side of the campus, may only enter the main east doors unless they are getting breakfast. Please do not drop your students off on 99th street and allow them to walk through traffic to get to school. This is unsafe.
Pickup - Parents/guardians driving west on 99th Ave, you cannot pass the line of traffic and make another lane. Please be mindful of our neighbors as well as our staff working supervision.
Fire drill - We had our first fire drill today. Staff and students did an excellent job in exiting the building in an orderly and timely manner.
K-6 Assessment Days - Thursday & Friday, August 22 and 23. Students will attend only one half session on Thursday 8:00-11:00 a.m., Thursday 12:00-3:00 p.m. or Friday 8:00-11:00 a.m. Teachers had previously sent out a signup link. Please contact the teacher if you have not signed up yet. Lunch is not served on these days. Volunteer opportunity - If you want to stick around after dropping off your student for their assessment time frame, we could use your help. We have some of our outside areas that need some gardening (weeding). Please let the front office know you are here to help and we can get you started. Thank you.
Band Camp -All students new to band this year (regardless of grade level) should attend band camp on Friday August 23rd, from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. Students testing on this day will come straight to lunch/band camp. Lunch will be provided. This afternoon will serve as an introduction to each student's instrument, and will emphasize the basics of tone production, posture, technique/fundamentals, and articulation. There will be a brief demonstration "concert" (only 10-15 minutes) at the end of the camp, where students will have an opportunity to show what they learned throughout the afternoon to you prior to pick-up.
Band (4th - 6th grade) - The schedules for students that have chosen to take band will be updated at the end of next week. If your student has not signed up yet and is interested in band, please contact Mr. Hollis - ghollis@jajags.com.
Attendance - Jeffco school has implemented a new process for parents to submit absences, tardies and early dismissal requests in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. This is an easy and fast process for families. Please take the time to review this article and become familiar with the steps. Link. We understand that there may be times when you do not have access to submit your request online, so the attendance line will still be available 303.438.1011.
Free Breakfast - New this year, we will serve free breakfast for students. Students can be dropped off at either drop off zone, but must enter the south doors of the cafeteria (east building). The doors will be unlocked at 7:40 a.m. Students will not be allowed to enter any other exterior door and walk around to the cafeteria. Students will eat their breakfast in the cafeteria and will be dismissed to go to their classroom at 7:55 a.m. (Menu).
