Welcome to 2nd Grade! My name is Krista Stiveson, and I will be your child’s teacher in the 2026-2027 school year! This is my eighth year teaching 2nd grade at Jefferson Academy. Before coming to JA, I taught Kindergarten for seven years in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. I graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2011 with a degree in Human Development with an emphasis in Elementary Education.

My husband Matt and I have been married for 15 years. We have three boys and an Australian Cattle Dog/Pitbull mix named Ember. All of my boys attend JA Elementary. It's really special working at the same school as my kids!

My goal is to provide a safe, caring, and encouraging environment for your child. One of my favorite parts of teaching is helping to foster the unique qualities and abilities each child brings into our classroom community. I look forward to partnering with you this year!

Outside of teaching, I love to spend time with my family, adventures outside, trying new foods and restaurants, live music and musicals, and enjoying a good cup of coffee.
